As of January 10, 2019, the following construction projects are underway in Salina:
  • Hilton Homewood Suites. This new $15.3 million, five-story hotel, located at 115 E. Mulberry Street between Santa Fe Avenue and 5th Street, is part of the Salina Downtown Revitalization Project and is expected to be completed sometime in 2020.
  • Taco John's. The new restaurant, located at 418 E. Iron, will replace the current Taco John's location at Santa Fe & Mulberry, which will be demolished to make room for parking for the new Hilton Homewood Suites. Expected completion is later this year.
  • Shopping Center at 1041 E. Iron. The new strip shopping center located on the northwest corner of Iron Avenue and Ohio Street is expected to include Salina Club Liquor, which will move from its current location at Sam's Club. Other tenants for the $1 million facility have yet to be announced.
  • Mokas Bistro & Bakery. Mokas is building a new, larger location at 902 E. Crawford, next door to their current location. Completion is expected later this year on the $1.1 million project.
  • The Alley. A new bowling alley and family fun center is now under construction at 115 E. Ash in downtown Salina. The $4.837 million facility, which is part of the Salina Downtown Revitalization Project, is expected to be completed in 2020.
  • Fairfield Inn By Marriott. Another hotel is currently nearing completion at 2455 Virginia Avenue, next door to Menards. This hotel was originally expected to be opened late last year. According to Marriott's website, the hotel is now scheduled to open in March.
  • Comfort Inn & Suites. Located at 1949 N. 9th (near 9th & I-70), this $3.65 million hotel is already under construction and is set to open later this year.
  • Tiger Express. Located at 655 S. Broadway (near the intersection of Crawford & Broadway) will be a new Tiger Express Car Wash. An opening date for the $1.6 million facility has not been yet announced.
